Sexual health and contraception

NHS Contraception and Sexual Health Clinic

There is a NHS run Sexual Health Clinic for students at St Andrews Community Hospital on a Friday afternoon between 1.30pm and 5pm during term time and is an appointment only clinic.  To make an appointment please telephone 01592 647979 between 8.30am - 1.30pm Monday to Friday. There will be no student clinic on Friday, 16th November 2018 or Friday, 7th December 2018.

In addition there is a NHS run Sexual Health Clinic for the general public at St Andrews Community Hospital on a Friday between 9am and 12.30pm and is an appointment only clinic.  To make an appointment please telephone 01592 647979 between 8.30am - 1.30pm, Monday to Friday. 

Both clinics are located within Outpatients which is next door to the Student Health Hub.  If you have any queries then please feel free to pop in.

What can Sexual Health Fife Clinics do for me?:

Contraception, Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (information, fitting, replacement and removal), Pregnancy Testing, STI's (testing and treatment), Blood-Borne Viruses (testing, treatment and support), Partner Notification (informing your sexual partner(s) in cases of STI's/BBVs).

Keep It or Cancel It! - If you are no longer able to make your appointment, please call 01592 647979 between 8.30am - 1.30pm Monday to Friday to cancel it so they can offer the appointment to another person.

If you think you are pregnant, you can find out more at the Sexual Health Clinic, or speak to the Practice Nurse within your GP Practice, located within the St Andrews Community Hospital.

Contraception

Free contraception, including condoms, pills, injections and implants, are available at the NHS Sexual Health Clinic St Andrews Community Hospital.

Free condoms are also available from:

  • Student Services (Eden Court)
  • Student Health Hub (St Andrews Community Hospital)
  • The Director of Representation and Iain Cupples (Students' Association, Union Building)
  • The Union porter (at night)
  • Condom distributors (located in every halls of residence)

The morning after pill is available at the Sexual Health Clinic, from your GP practice, or alternatively at any chemist.
