Salaries and Pensions
From 6 April 2017 new HMRC legislation will come into force. The new legislation will apply when buying services, whether you are paying an individual, an agency, or the individuals own company (known as a Private Sector Company (PSC)). This legislation does not apply to large companies who employ multiple staff to perform services on behalf of their company.
The new legislation aims to make sure that individuals providing services in the same manner as an employee, pay the same tax and national insurance.

Aims and Services
Our team provides the payroll and pensions services to the University. We are open to all enquiries and we welcome requests for advice.
We are based in the Old Burgh School, Abbey Walk. Please contact us to discuss any of the above items or for advice on any salaries or pensions issues. Our opening hours are from 8:45am to 5pm.
Our aims are to:
- Provide an accurate and efficient service for monthly payrolls, working to strict deadlines.
- Provide the administration for the University pension schemes.
- Provide quality customer service through commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

salaries-absence – please use this account if you have a query about sickness absence and for submitting Part A and B self-certifications.
salaries-external – please use this account if you have a query regarding fees/self employed.
ts-salaries – please use this account for submitting your timesheets, and queries regarding timesheets.
salaries-cc – please use this account for submitting casual/bank contracts along with nationality documents, and queries regarding contracts.
'Ask HR' via Self Service – please use this account for all other salary queries.
