Brazilian Scientific Mobility Programme: Ciencia sem Fronteiras - Reino Unido

The CsF programme is currently paused due to a review of government funding in Brazil. Prospective PhD students are advised to check the CNPq and CAPES webpages for any upcoming funding opportunities.

In 2012 the Brazilian government launched Ciência sem Fronteiras UK (CsFUK), a programme of scholarships to promote the consolidation and expansion of science, technology and innovation in Brazil “through international exchange and mobility”.

The University of St Andrews is delighted to participate in the CsFUK programme which has already funded more than 8,500 students to study in the UK at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Brazilian students who have chosen to study in the UK (the second most popular destination after the USA) have made an enormous contribution to the international character of UK universities and they have played an important role in increasing collaboration in research and innovation between the UK and Brazil.

The scholarships available are for:

  • Undergraduate students (12 months of study abroad)
  • Doctoral students (12 months: visiting, or, 3 years: full PhD)
  • Collaborative Senior Fellowships
