Richard Streeter along with Tom Dawson (School of History), hosted a workshop in SGSD over the 4th and 5th of March for an NSF-funded project called dataARC.
The workshop involved researchers from the USA, Iceland, Sweden and the Orkney Islands. As well as discussion in the Irvine building the meeting also involved a visit to Kingsbarns beach and Fife Ness to look at eroding archaeological sites. dataARC aims to link datasets from archaeology, palaeoenvironment, and the humanities together in order to more easily address questions on the long-term human ecodynamics of the North Atlantic and beyond.
